About Dobrinishte

Dobrinishte - the ChurchFamous for its healing mineral springs, Dobrinishte is one of Bulgaria's largest villages with a population of over 3000.

It is located at the foothills of the Pirin Mountains at an altitude of 850 m and is surrounded on all sides by the snow-capped peaks of the Pirin, Rila and Rhodopi mountain ranges.

It is ideally positioned to take advantage of the local Ski Domain above Dobrinishte, the lively ski resort of Bansko and to explore the Pirin National Park, a World Heritage location.

It's not surprising that the name Dobrinishte comes from the word "Dobri neshta" meaning "Good things".

Just a short stroll from the Pirin Chalets are a few Mehanas (taverns) with their inviting log burning fires, one of which is said to be the best in the Region. Small bakeries and shops can also be found throughout the village selling locally grown organic produce.

The healing mineral springs of Dobrinishte have been attracting visitors to the village since ancient times. All are located along the river Dobrinishka, where ancient roman pools have been discovered.
